Created to motivate and assist Beeville Independent School District high school students to pursue post-secondary educations, the Joe Barnhart Scholarship Program has benefited 1,650 students since 1997.  This collaboration between a public school and a private foundation provides mentorship and career path exploration to all students.  A professional staff and volunteers work individually with students to counsel, encourage and assist them in completing paperwork necessary for obtaining college admission and financial aid.

The impact on students over the last 25 years, includes increases in students taking college entrance exams and attending colleges and other post-secondary institutions.
